Max, who is socially shy and anxious around people, was given funding in his NDIS plan specifically for exercise physiology and personal training. He initially refused to even to participate and wouldn’t set foot in a gym.
Our Support Coordination team researched different Exercise Physiologists located near Max’s home and found an EP that was of a similar age to the client; the Support Coordinator also supported the client to their initial assessment. The client took an instant liking to the EP, and they quickly developed a great rapport. The EP was happy to find an alternative to a gym, and they settled on meeting at a small hall.
The client who is notorious for cancelling appointments now gets himself to his training every week and is considering increasing the sessions to twice a week.
